Clare urges Health Secretary to keep EHIC card

I've signed a cross-party letter with other MEPs to Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt, urging him to intervene to stop us losing the use of our EHIC cards post-Brexit.

This is of great concern to people with long term health conditions which require regular treatment, such as dialysis.

"Medical charities have warned that 29,000 kidney dialysis patients who need to attend hospital every other day would face insurmountable costs of more than £800 a week if the card goes, effectively putting holidays and rest breaks out of reach for people on ordinary incomes."
