Visit to Honda factory in Swindon

'A fascinating visit to a factory dependent on the European market'

Clare was pleased to have been shown around one of the South West's factories that is producing cars mainly for export. 'I was particularly interested in the efforts to reduce dependence on fossil fuels in the factory. I was told that their two solar farms provide 15% of the factory's power requirements. Solar power is also used for the production of hydrogen which supplies the filling station on site. Further examples of the South West leading the way in renewable technologies.'
